Situated about fifteen kilometers from the imperial city of Fez, the source of Sidi Harazem was already frequented since the Roman era. According to the legend, it was called “Khalouan” which means a haven of peace allowing to isolate oneself to meditate in the Sufist way of Sidi Harazem, philosopher, traveler and linguist. He would have been in his day the heir of a fortune, but prefered to yield it to the poors . It is in his honor that the water that spouts for 100 meters of depth bears that name. Later the merinid Sultan, Abu Hassan Ali, built baths there, which vestiges are still visible on the spot.
